Another Milan discovery: Dutch label/breed. Very good to see these kind of initiatives. In my opinion, when technology and design work together, they might be able to change the world. I am a big fan of Studio Roosegaarde for doing that.
Label/breed is a new initiative focused on creating beneficial collaborations between designers and manufacturers, and promoting the development of innovative interior objects for a changing world. Label/breed selects and brings together designers and manufacturers so that unique concepts using imaginative and unconventional fabrication processes can find their form.
For this first collection, designers they worked with are Christien Meindertsma, Chris Kabel, Demakersvan and Marleen Kaptein. The complete collection will be available for purchase from the end of the summer. Starting May 8th, a label/breed post Milan exhibition is on show at The Frozen Fountain in Amsterdam.
Founders Stijn Roodnat and Toon Stilma believe that the Netherlands’ manufacturing industry has the ability to create beautiful things with the help of talented designers. I agree!
